Kalu Urges Immortalization of Late Cleric Uma Ukpai

Orji Uzor Kalu, the former governor of Abia State and current senator representing Abia North, has called on the Abia State government to immortalize the late cleric Uma Ukpai. Kalu made this appeal in a statement issued on Monday, emphasizing Ukpai's role as a spiritual leader and his substantial contributions to the development of Christianity in Nigeria.

He noted that Ukpai's influence extended beyond the pulpit, highlighting his humanitarian activities that positively impacted lives across Nigeria. Kalu urged the state lawmakers to take concrete steps to preserve Ukpai's legacy, especially during a time when moral values are being challenged.

He extended condolences to Ukpai's family, church members, and associates as they prepare for the burial, which is scheduled for October 6, 2025. Ukpai, a prominent Pentecostal preacher and founder of the Uma Ukpai Evangelistic Association, was known for his large-scale crusades and humanitarian outreach efforts over six decades.
