Gaya Resigns from APC, Joins ADC in Kano State

On March 30, 2023, Gaya announced his resignation from the All Progressives Congress (APC), effective April 5, 2026. He addressed his resignation letter to the APC ward chairman of Gaya Local Government Area.

Gaya's decision to leave the APC aligns with what he believes to be in the best interest of his constituents. Following his resignation, he joined the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and later met with Dr.

Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, a leader of the Kwankwasiyya Movement. Gaya expressed his gratitude to the APC for the support and camaraderie he experienced during his eight years with the party.

He noted that the APC had deviated from its foundational principles, particularly regarding security issues during President Buhari's tenure. Gaya aims to maintain a cordial relationship with Kwankwaso and the ADC as he transitions from the APC.
