Kano State Government Allocates N20m to Support Journalists' Chapel

The Kano State Government has announced a N20 million package to sponsor the construction of a capacity-building retreat for the Correspondents’ Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ). Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf and Sunusi Batur Dawakin Tofa made the announcement during a tea break session at the NUJ conference hall.

The fund will cover expenses such as transport, accommodation, feeding, and stipends for participants. The gesture aims to support the chapel's activities and assist vulnerable members.

The event also saw donations to support a veteran journalist involved in a traffic accident.
