Gombe Governor Appoints 19 New Permanent Secretaries

On Monday, Gombe State Governor Muhammadu Yahaya approved the appointment of 19 Permanent Secretaries to address vacancies in the State Civil Service and enhance administrative efficiency. The Head of the State Civil Service, Prof. Mu’azu Shehu, stated that the appointments were necessary due to a shortage of Permanent Secretaries and the recent restructuring of ministries.

The selected officers were chosen from 11 Local Government Areas, considering geographical spread, professional experience, and the specific needs of various ministries. Shehu emphasized that the appointments were based on the candidates' suitability, competence, and proven records, noting their satisfactory performance and clean service records.

The newly appointed Permanent Secretaries include individuals from Akko, Balanga, Billiri, Dukku, Funakaye, Gombe, Kwami, Kaltungo, Nafada, Shongom, and Yamaltu-Deba LGAs. Governor Yahaya expects them to leverage their experience and professionalism to contribute to a more efficient civil service.

All appointments take immediate effect.
