Kano Lawmaker Shuwaki Resigns from APC, Joins PDP

On Tuesday, during a plenary session, Ismail Falgore, the Speaker of the Kano Assembly, read the resignation letter of lawmaker Shuwaki, who has left the All Progressives Congress (APC) to join the People's Democratic Party (PDP). In his letter, Shuwaki expressed that his decision was made after “deep reflection and consultations” with political associates, supporters, and family members.

He thanked APC leaders for their support during his time in the party but indicated that he had chosen a new political path that aligns with his principles. Shuwaki confirmed that he had joined the PDP months prior but delayed the formal announcement to engage in political consultations.

He also urged residents of Tudun Wada to maintain unity and cordial relations despite political differences. The Speaker revealed that the Assembly leadership had received Shuwaki's resignation letter about two months ago but postponed its reading while confirming his position.
