Kwara Assembly Member Gideon Resigns from APC, Joins PDP

Hon. Saba Yisa Gideon, who represents Edu State Constituency in the Kwara State House of Assembly, has officially resigned from the All Progressives Congress (APC). He communicated his resignation in a letter addressed to the APC Ward Chairman of Tsaragi Ward 3 in Edu Local Government Area, stating that the resignation takes immediate effect.

Gideon cited “careful reflection and consultations” with his constituents and key stakeholders as the basis for his decision. He expressed concerns regarding internal democracy, fairness, and inclusiveness within the APC as significant factors influencing his departure.

Despite leaving the APC, Gideon reaffirmed his commitment to serving the people of Edu State Constituency, Kwara State, and Nigeria with integrity and accountability. He also acknowledged the support he received during his time with the APC.

This resignation occurs amid political realignments in preparation for the 2027 general elections in Kwara State and is understood to facilitate his alignment with the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
