Kano By-Election: PDP, NNPP, ADC Absent from Ballots

The recent by-election in Kano was marked by the absence of major political parties, specifically the People's Democratic Party (PDP), New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), and African Democratic Congress (ADC) on the ballot papers. This election was conducted across 1,014 polling units in the Kano Municipal constituency, following the death of Aminu Sa'adu Ungogo.

The election materials reportedly arrived early at polling stations, and approximately 535,000 registered voters were expected to participate in electing a new representative. However, reports indicated a low turnout across the constituency, although the exercise was conducted peacefully with no major incidents recorded.

The election is significant as it aims to fill the legislative gap left by Ungogo's passing, with the next general elections scheduled for December 2025.
