Kano State Expands Health Insurance for Vulnerable Groups

The Kano State Contributory Healthcare Management Agency, led by Executive Secretary Dr. Rahila Aliyu Mukhtar, is expanding its health insurance scheme to enroll 6,000 vulnerable hypertensive patients and 6,000 individuals living with HIV.

This initiative aims to improve access to healthcare for these groups, who typically struggle to afford medical care. The agency's efforts are part of a broader strategy to reduce complications arising from hypertension, as indicated by national reports.

Additionally, the agency plans to enroll 6,000 tuberculosis patients, recognizing that their healthcare needs extend beyond tuberculosis treatment to include secondary health conditions.
