Kano Lawmaker Muhammad Danjuma Hassan Passes Away at 66

Muhammad Danjuma Hassan, a member of Nigeria's House of Representatives representing the Dawakin Kudu/Warawa federal constituency in Kano State, died on Friday at the age of 66 after a prolonged illness. His death was confirmed by House spokesman Akin Rotimi, who described it as a significant loss to the National Assembly and the country.

Hassan had a long-standing career in legislative development, having been elected to the House in 2023 on the platform of the New Nigeria Peoples Party. He served as the Deputy Chairman of the House Committee on Judiciary and was widely regarded as one of Nigeria's foremost legislative counsels and legal draftsmen.

His contributions significantly advanced legislative development and the constitutional process in Nigeria. Speaker of the House, Tajudeen Abba, extended condolences to Hassan's family and the people of Kano State.

Hassan's burial is scheduled for Saturday, in accordance with Islamic rites.
