Governor Abba Yusuf Defends Murtala Garo as Deputy Governor

Governor Abba Yusuf of Kano State has publicly defended his choice of Murtala Sule Garo as the new deputy governor, emphasizing Garo's experience and commitment to the development of Kano State. In a statement released by his spokesperson, Mustapha Muhammad, Governor Yusuf explained that Garo was selected after a careful review of several candidates, based on their past performance and ability to contribute meaningfully to Kano's progress.

This announcement was made during the 39th Executive Council meeting held at the Government House in Kano. Governor Yusuf expressed the need for someone who could effectively support the development plans of the state.

Garo's name was sent to the Kano State House of Assembly last week following the resignation of former deputy governor Aminu Abdulsalam Gwarzo, which allowed for a quick screening and confirmation process. Governor Yusuf praised the lawmakers, led by Speaker Jibril Ismail Falgor, for their swift action in approving Garo's nomination, who is expected to be sworn in soon.

The governor also urged public support for Garo in his new role.
