Kano Governor Abba Yusuf Welcomes Eight NNPP Defectors

On Wednesday, Kano State Governor Abba Yusuf welcomed eight lawmakers who defected from the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC) during an event held in Abuja. The defectors included Tijjani Abdulkadir, Jobe Garba, Ibrahim Diso, Hassan Shehu, Hussain Idri Dankawu, Muhammad Chiroma, Nalaraba Rabiu Yusuf, and Dr.

Ghali Mustapha. The spokesperson, Sanusi Dawakin Tofa, stated that the lawmakers cited internal crises within the NNPP as their reason for the move.

The event was attended by former APC National Chairman Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje and Deputy President of the Senate Barau Jibrin.

Governor Yusuf emphasized the importance of political realignment in a vibrant democracy and reaffirmed his administration's commitment to delivering dividends of democracy to the people of Kano State, regardless of political differences. He also highlighted the need for unity and cooperation among elected representatives for the overall development of the state.
