Kano Governor Yusuf Submits APC Nomination for 2027

Kano State Governor Yusuf submitted his nomination form for a second term with the All Progressives Congress (APC) on Thursday, as part of preparations for the 2027 governorship election. His submission was accompanied by prominent political figures, including former Kano State Governor Ibrahim Shekarau, Deputy Senate President Barau Jibrin, and Senator Kawu Sumaila.

In a statement released by his spokesperson, Yusuf described his declaration for a second term as a renewed call to service. He pledged to strengthen support for agriculture, empower programs for farmers and youth, and focus on job creation and youth development.

The governor reaffirmed his commitment to improving education and healthcare delivery in Kano State. He expressed gratitude to the people of Kano for their continued support and assured them of his administration's commitment to transparency and people-centered development.

Yusuf had previously defected from the NNPP to the APC on January 26, 2026, amid internal crises within the NNPP, and his move was unanimously endorsed by Kano APC stakeholders.
