Abba Yusuf Plans One Term in NNPP, Second in APC

Abba Yusuf, the Governor of Kano State, has publicly stated his plan to serve one term with the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) and a subsequent term with the All Progressives Congress (APC). This announcement comes in the wake of his recent defection from the NNPP, which he attributed to ongoing political crises and leadership disputes within the party.

Yusuf emphasized that his decision was made in the best interest of the people of Kano State. He also addressed a viral slogan that suggested he would only serve one term, clarifying that he intends to transition to the APC for his second term.

The governor's move follows a period of estrangement from his political godfather, Rabiu Kwankwaso, and reflects the deepening internal crisis within the NNPP. Yusuf's resignation from the NNPP was aimed at resolving prolonged leadership disputes within the party.
