Kano Govt Breaks Silence On Alleged Diversion Of ₦6.5bn

The Kano State Government has refuted claims of diverting ₦6.5 billion from the state treasury, labeling the allegations as false and politically motivated. In a statement released by the Media Publicity Government House, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, the government clarified that the accusations circulating on social media and online platforms were aimed at tarnishing the image of a key political aide.

The government emphasized that all cash outflows by Ministries, Departments, and Agencies are properly budgeted with clear fiscal policies in place. Alhaji Abdullahi Rogo of the Protocol Directorate at the Government House highlighted that the financial structure in Kano State differs from that of the federal government.

The statement also mentioned Abdullahi Yusuf, a seasoned journalist and communicator, who retired from the News Agency of Nigeria in December 2021.
