Kano State Engages EFCC, Police for N8bn Fire Relief

The Kano State government has involved the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and the Nigeria Police Force in the distribution of N8 billion in relief funds for victims of the Singer Market fire. Alhaji Umar Faruk, the leadership secretary of the state government, emphasized the importance of transparency and fairness in the distribution process.

He stated that the committee overseeing the distribution must adhere strictly to these principles to ensure justice for all affected victims. Barrister Mohammad Zakari Junaid, chairman of the Kano Singer Market, confirmed the involvement of anti-corruption agencies and security bodies in the committee to guarantee fairness.

ACP Jauro from the Nigeria Police assured that adequate security would be maintained across the market. The Emir of Kano, Alhaji Ado Kurawa, expressed sympathy for the business community affected by the incident and urged traders to cooperate with the committee for successful execution of the relief distribution.
