Kano Arrests Fake Health Workers in Illegal Outreach

The Kano State Ministry of Health, in collaboration with the Private Health Institutions Management Agency (PHIMA), the Kano State Centre for Disease Control (KNCDC), and the Kano State Police Command, arrested suspects involved in an illegal medical outreach in Panshekara, Kumbotso Local Government Area. The arrests occurred following credible intelligence from vigilant citizens regarding unauthorized medical activities.

Nabilusi Abubakar, the Public Relations Officer of the Ministry of Health, confirmed the arrests on Wednesday. The suspects were operating under the guise of the Brother Paul Legacy Foundation, distributing registration cards and collecting money for purported medical services.

Commissioner for Health, Abubakar Yusuf, stated that preliminary investigations revealed the suspects lacked qualifications and recognized health certifications. The registration cards falsely promised free treatment, aiming to deceive victims.

Yusuf urged the public to report suspicious medical activities and emphasized the importance of seeking services from licensed professionals. The suspects are currently in police custody for further investigation.
