Kano Police Investigate Six for Distributing Unapproved Medicines

The Kano State Police Command has initiated an investigation into six male suspects, including Simon Gbaaondo, 50, from Karu, Nasarawa State, who were intercepted on August 4, 2026, at approximately 9:00 a.m. during a church outreach at the ECWA Church in Challawa. The suspects, affiliated with the Brother Paul Legacy Foundation, were reportedly administering and selling unverified locally made medicines to residents of the Panshekara community without the necessary approvals from health regulatory authorities.

The police stated that the operation was prompted by complaints from the public. The case was initially reported at the Panshekara Police Division and later transferred to the Kano State Criminal Investigation Department (CID), where five suspects are undergoing further investigation.

Commissioner of Police Ibrahim Adamu Bakori cautioned against unauthorized medical outreach activities, emphasizing the public health risks involved. The police urged the public to report any suspicious medical activities to the nearest station.
