Kano Pillars FC's Appeal Against League Sanctions Denied

Kano Pillars FC has failed in its attempt to overturn a three-point and three-goal deduction imposed by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) following a serious security breach during a match against Shooting Stars Sports Club at Sani Abacha Stadium on October 8, 2025. The NFF's appeal committee upheld the sanctions, which were based on a report from league officials detailing grave violations of league regulations, including an assault on match officials.

In addition to the point and goal deductions, Kano Pillars FC was fined N9.5 million and ordered to indefinitely close the Sani Abacha Stadium. The NPFL's disciplinary body emphasized the necessity of enforcing these measures to maintain safety standards across the competition.

The decision complicates the club's efforts to avoid relegation as they enter a critical phase of the season.
