Kano Police Collaborates with New Drug Taskforce

On Thursday, the Kano State Police Command welcomed Muhuyi Magaji Rimingado, the chairman of the newly established Kano State Multi-Agency Taskforce on Drugs and Illicit Trafficking, during a courtesy and working visit to the command's headquarters in Bompai. Rimingado's visit aimed to introduce the taskforce's leadership, brief the police on its mandate and operational plan for 2026, and seek collaboration to enhance inter-agency efforts against drug abuse and illicit trafficking in Kano state.

He praised the police command for its proactive and intelligence-driven approach to combating crime. Rimingado assured that the taskforce is dedicated to supporting police operations through advocacy, community engagement, public enlightenment, and credible intelligence gathering to dismantle drug networks in the state.

In response, Kano Commissioner of Police, Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, expressed the command's readiness to partner with the taskforce in addressing thuggery, drug trafficking, and related crimes.
