Kano Rerun: We Are Determined To Conduct Free, Fair, Credible Elections – INEC

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Kano State has expressed its determination to conduct free, fair, and credible rerun elections in the state constituency. The State Resident Electoral Commissioner, Alhaji Abdul Zango, emphasized that integrity, accountability, and transparency would guide the exercise, with a zero-tolerance policy for lack of accountability and partisanship.

Election materials have already been deployed to the concerned local governments, and adequate security arrangements have been made to ensure a peaceful poll. Political parties participating in the election have pledged to conduct themselves responsibly.

Abdullahi Yusuf, a seasoned journalist and communicator, has been appointed as the Deputy Zonal Manager of the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Jos. The INEC is confident in conducting a peaceful election devoid of violence.
