Kano Woman Delivers Quintuplets, Government Provides Care

Hafsatu Yusuf recently gave birth to quintuplets—three boys and two girls—at Murtala Muhammad Specialist Hospital in Kano State. Following this rare occurrence, the Kano State government has assumed responsibility for the medical care of both the mother and her five newborns.

Nabilusi Na Isa, from the Kano State Ministry of Health, issued a statement confirming the government's intervention, highlighting the critical nature of the situation and expressing gratitude for the support provided. The government aims to strengthen the healthcare system, particularly in maternal and child health services, and is committed to reducing maternal and infant mortality rates.

The family, particularly the husband Salisu Nufi, a tricycle rider, expressed deep gratitude for the government's assistance during this challenging time. Quintuplets are born from a single pregnancy and are considered extremely rare, often requiring intensive medical care due to the high-risk nature of multiple births.
