Kano Woman Dies After Delivering Quintuplets in Hospital

Hafsatu Yusuf, a woman from Kano State, died following the delivery of quintuplets at Murtala Muhammad Specialist Hospital around 2 AM. Nabilusi Abubakar, the Public Relations Officer of the Kano State Ministry of Health, confirmed that the woman experienced persistent bleeding during the delivery of five babies—three boys and two girls.

Despite the medical personnel's efforts to stabilize her condition, they were unsuccessful. Following her death, she was buried according to Islamic rites, and her husband, Malam Salisu Nufi, expressed gratitude for the state government's intervention.

The Kano State government has announced it will take responsibility for the medical care of the mother and the newborns, who are currently in stable condition and receiving medical attention. The incident has prompted an appeal for public support for essential items such as baby milk.

The Kano State government reiterated its commitment to improving maternal and child healthcare services to reduce mortality rates across the state.
