Katsina Anti-graft Agency Probes ₦188.6m Fraud In Fertilizer and School Funds

The Katsina State Public Complaints Commission is investigating a suspected fraud amounting to ₦188.6 million involving the mismanagement of funds meant for fertilizer distribution and school activities. Preliminary findings suggest that community officers and councillors diverted subsidized fertilizers and mishandled school funds.

Some suspects have reportedly admitted guilt and started refunding the misappropriated money. The investigation spans across several local government areas, with allegations of illicit collections and mismanagement against various officials.

Additionally, the agency is probing four secondary school principals for alleged financial misconduct. The Katsina State Department of Banking and Finance is also reported to be involved in the ongoing recovery of funds.
