Katsina State Disburses N328M for Medical Student Support

On Saturday, Katsina State disbursed N328 million as part of the Phase 2026 Medical Student Allowance Scheme, benefiting 650 medical students enrolled in 33 accredited universities both within and outside Nigeria. Governor Dikko Radda approved the initiative, reaffirming the administration's commitment to strengthening human capital development in the health sector.

Muhammad Nazir, the General Manager of the Katsina State Hospital Services Management Board, confirmed the disbursement in a statement signed by the board's secretary, Abu Usman. The allowance is designed to alleviate financial constraints faced by medical students during their academic and professional training.

This strategic investment by the state government aims to build a competent and resilient healthcare workforce capable of meeting the evolving health needs of Katsina State. The initiative represents a deliberate investment in healthcare workforce development to ensure a pipeline of qualified healthcare professionals.
