Katsina State Launches N328M Scholarship for Medical Students

Katsina State has initiated a scholarship program worth N328,123,392.35 for 650 medical students enrolled in 33 accredited universities, both domestically and internationally. This initiative, approved by Governor Dikko Umaru Radda, aims to alleviate financial burdens faced by students during their academic and professional training.

Dr. Muhammad Nazir Shehu, the General Manager of the Katsina State Hospital Services Management Board, announced the program, emphasizing the government's commitment to enhancing human capital development within the health sector.

The scholarship is designed to build a competent and resilient healthcare workforce capable of addressing the evolving health needs of Katsina State and the nation. Shehu urged beneficiaries to utilize the support judiciously and maintain professional ethics in line with the vision of the Katsina State government.

The scholarship scheme represents a strategic investment in the healthcare workforce, with further phases planned to support additional medical students.
