Katsina State Advances Safe Schools Policy Implementation

Katsina State is actively working to implement a safe schools policy to foster a secure and violence-free learning environment. Mr.

Nasir Ahmad, the Director of the Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education, disclosed this information on Saturday. The initiative is part of a broader national framework aimed at enhancing safety standards in schools.

During a committee review meeting, which included members from Save the Children International, Mr. Ahmad highlighted the importance of aligning the policy with local realities and engaging critical stakeholders through extensive consultations, including focus group discussions and interviews.

The committee is expected to finalize the draft policy by the end of the month, incorporating feedback from stakeholders to ensure it addresses emerging safety concerns effectively. The commission commended the committee for its diligent progress and emphasized the necessity of protecting students and enhancing the quality of education in the state.
