Katsina State Achieves 81.66% Budget Performance

Katsina State achieved an 81.66% budget performance for the 2025 fiscal year, generating N565.28 billion against a revised budget of N692.24 billion. The state government, led by Governor Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, reported that N482.41 billion was spent during the year, representing a 69.69% budget performance.

A significant investment of N343 billion was allocated to capital projects, focusing on infrastructure, education, health, agriculture, and the social sector. The commission noted that recurrent expenditure had an 88.56% performance rate, with personnel costs achieving 93.47% and overhead costs reaching 84.82%.

Capital expenditure recorded a 64.11% performance, reflecting the administration's commitment to infrastructure development despite revenue challenges. The economic sector received the highest allocation at 47% of total expenditure, followed by the social sector at 37% and the administrative sector at 16%.

The 2026 budget framework was presented, totaling N857 billion, the largest in the state's history, with a focus on security, economic empowerment, job creation, and sustainable infrastructure.
