ADC Backs Malami, Vows to Defeat APC in 2027 Elections

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has publicly backed Abubakar Malami, stating that ongoing legal challenges will not deter their efforts to defeat the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the upcoming 2027 general elections. This stance was articulated in a statement following a meeting of the party’s state leadership in Sokoto, signed by ADC State Chairman Engr.

Sufiyanu Bala and Elders Forum Chairman Alhaji Shehu Aliyu Sambawa. The ADC accused the APC-led Federal Government of using anti-graft agencies and judicial processes to intimidate opposition figures.

While the party does not oppose lawful investigations, it condemned the alleged use of “Gestapo methods” to suppress dissent. The ADC asserted that political persecution would not distract them from their objective of unseating the APC.

They specifically addressed Malami's situation, claiming that his arrest and prosecution were politically motivated and questioned the legality of his continued detention over a bailable offense. The ADC also alleged that Malami's properties were searched without his presence and that his family assets were overvalued to damage his reputation.
