Kebbi State Launches Treasury Training for MDA Staff

The Kebbi State Government has launched a four-day capacity-building program titled “Strengthening Treasury Operations, Financial Controls and Office Record Documentation,” scheduled from August 19 to 22, 2026, in Sokoto. Abdullahi Zuru, the Special Adviser on Media and Strategy to the governor, stated that this initiative aims to enhance public financial management and institutional accountability.

The training will cover practical aspects of financial documentation, internal controls, risk management, and compliance procedures. The first phase will focus on public financial management and documentation standards, emphasizing transparency and accountability.

The second phase will address office records documentation and control systems. Zuru highlighted the significance of accurate record-keeping for effective governance and decision-making.

The training will include classroom sessions, practical exercises, and group discussions to help participants identify documentation gaps and strengthen accountability mechanisms. The government anticipates that this program will improve audit readiness and enhance public confidence in government institutions.
