Kebbi State Government Completes 25 Infrastructure Projects

The Kebbi State Government has completed 25 major infrastructure projects, with seven others nearing completion and 19 new contracts awarded. Yakubu Ahmed-BK, the Commissioner for Information and Culture, announced these developments during a press briefing in Birnin Kebbi, reviewing the achievements of Governor Nasir Idris’s administration ahead of its third anniversary.
The projects include road construction and rehabilitation, office complexes, transport terminals, drainage networks, and bridges. The administration aims to address longstanding infrastructure deficits and improve connectivity.
Ahmed-BK noted the poor condition of the inherited road network and emphasized that the new projects would ease transportation difficulties and stimulate socioeconomic activities. Among the newly awarded contracts is the rehabilitation of the Birnin Lafiya–Gulma–Natsini Road, a 32.7-kilometre project in Argungu Local Government Area, with a 12-month completion period.
The establishment of the Kebbi State Transportation Authority and the construction of a new Central Motor Park in Birnin Kebbi are also highlighted as significant improvements to the state's transportation system.
