Kebbi Governor Nasir Idris Names New Running Mate for 2027

Kebbi State Governor Nasir Idris has officially selected Alhaji Ibrahim Augie as his running mate for the upcoming 2027 governorship election, replacing the current Deputy Governor, Senator Umar Tafida. This announcement was made on Sunday in Birnin Kebbi by the APC National Organising Secretary, Alhaji Suleiman Argungu, who stated that the change was based on professional legal advice regarding the eligibility of the incumbent deputy governor.

Argungu emphasized that the decision was made with Tafida's understanding and consent, indicating that there was no conflict between the governor and his deputy. Governor Idris also urged for continued unity and support among APC members and the public as his administration aims for further development in Kebbi State.

Alhaji Ibrahim Augie, the new running mate, previously served as the Commissioner for Finance in Kebbi State during the tenure of former Governor Atiku Bagudu and is from Augie Local Government Area.
