Kebbi Residents Abducted as Terrorists Raid Tsamiya, Burn Security Checkpoint

Armed attackers struck Tsamiya Town in Kebbi State on Saturday night, abducting a resident and destroying an NSCDC checkpoint as police deploy tactical teams.
Bagudo Local Government Area in Kebbi State experienced an armed assault on Saturday night when gunmen descended on Tsamiya Town. The attack resulted in at least one person being taken captive and damage to security installations.
Sunday morning saw the Kebbi State Police Command issue a statement confirming what had transpired, with the kidnapped individual identified as Alhaji Yusuf Bazamfar. Structures torched during the assault included a checkpoint run by the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) and a home belonging to someone identified as Sule Mai Goge.
State Police Public Relations Officer Bashir Usman's statement detailed how the assailants fired repeatedly into the community before igniting multiple buildings. The exact size of the attacking force and casualty figures remain unknown from current information.
In response, tactical teams were immediately sent by the Kebbi State Police Command to Tsamiya Town for fact-finding and victim recovery efforts. Separately, another operation elsewhere in Kebbi State resulted in the elimination of Jiji Mujugu, a prominent figure in a kidnapping criminal network.
This operation stemmed from an earlier kidnapping involving Alhaji Abu Geza. When confronted, Mujugu's associates engaged in gunfire with law enforcement, who returned fire with lethal effect.
Officers recovered a improvised firearm from the scene. Restoration of normalcy and community safety remain priorities, according to the Kebbi State Police Command.
Ongoing investigative work continues into the Tsamiya incident, while the search for those involved in the abduction proceeds. The command has reaffirmed its dedication to bringing perpetrators to account and securing the affected region.
