Kebbi State Reopens Maga Girls' School After Abduction, Enhances Security Measures

Kebbi State has reopened the Government Girls Comprehensive Secondary School in Maga following the abduction and subsequent rescue of 24 students. The reopening was announced by the Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education, Dr.

Halima Band, after a security meeting with school officials. The state government, led by Governor Nasir Idri, has committed to implementing necessary security measures to protect students and staff.

Various security awareness programs have been initiated, and school heads have been trained on safety measures. The Nigeria Police Force, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), and Department of State Services (DSS) have provided support in enhancing school security.

ACP Yakubu Lawal Gumi warned school principals to be vigilant and ensure adequate security measures are in place.
