Kebbi State Government Orders Reopening of Schools After Shutdown

The Kebbi State Government has directed the reopening of public and private primary and secondary schools for the second term of the 2025-2026 academic session starting on January 5, 2026. This decision follows the earlier closure of schools due to the abduction of 25 students from Government Science Secondary School in Maga Zuru Local Government Area by suspected bandits.

The government emphasized adequate preparations for the resumption to maintain a stable academic calendar. Schools are instructed to adhere strictly to the approved timetable and examination schedule, with monitoring teams deployed to ensure compliance.
