Taraba State and Dangote Foundation Distribute Food Aid

Kefa Dure, representing the Taraba State government, and the Aliko Dangote Foundation initiated a food distribution program aimed at alleviating food insecurity among vulnerable populations in Taraba State. The program was launched over the weekend in Jalingo, where 30,000 bags of 50kg maize and 15,000 bags of 10kg rice were flagged off for distribution.

The initiative involves collaboration with the chairmen of 16 local government areas to ensure equitable distribution of food to every household in the state. Dure emphasized the administration's commitment to the welfare of the Taraba people, while Prof. Nicholas Namessan, the Commissioner for Agriculture and Food Security, noted that this initiative would significantly alleviate hardships faced by citizens, marking a timely intervention in the state.
