Taraba Governor Kefa Unveils Mining Roadmap Commitment

On a recent date, Governor Agbu Kefa Mondai reaffirmed his administration's commitment to unlocking the vast solid mineral potential across Taraba State. He made this declaration during a stakeholder engagement workshop focused on developing a mining sector roadmap in Jalingo, the state capital.

Speaking alongside Barrister Gebon Katap, the Secretary to the State Government, the governor called for stronger collaboration among government agencies, private investors, and industry experts to ensure that mining activities in the state are conducted in an environmentally responsible and sustainable manner. He urged stakeholders to contribute meaningfully toward developing a practical, investor-friendly roadmap that will serve as a blueprint for the sector's growth.

Kefa established that a structured and transparent mining framework will not only attract responsible investment but also create employment opportunities, boost internal revenue generation, and stimulate economic growth across local communities. He described the workshop as a critical step toward repositioning the state as a leading mining destination in Nigeria, with expectations that it will produce a valid roadmap to guide policy direction and strengthen the value chain.
