Taraba Governor Approves N1.5bn for Education Initiatives

Taraba State Governor Agbu Kefa has approved the release of N1.5 billion aimed at enhancing educational access and quality in the state. This includes N1.3 billion allocated for the payment of West Africa Examination Council (WAEC) fees for 39,536 students, alongside N200 million designated for a school feeding program.

The funding is intended to cover the WAEC fees and other administrative charges, ensuring that students can participate in both internal and external academic programs without financial hindrance. Dr.

Augustina Godwin, the Commissioner for Basic Secondary Education, disclosed these details during a symbolic cheque presentation held at the WAEC office in Jalingo on Tuesday. She emphasized the administration's commitment to improving educational access and quality, highlighting the importance of these interventions for students across various secondary schools in the state.
