Kenneth Okonkwo Accuses Tinubu of Shortening Governor's Tenure Illegally

Nollywood actor Kenneth Okonkwo accused President Bola Tinubu of unlawfully shortening the tenure of Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara by declaring a state of emergency. Okonkwo argued that Fubara's tenure should legally extend to November 29, 2027, instead of the conventional May 29, 2027, to compensate for the lost six months.

He emphasized the need to challenge this action in court to uphold constitutional mandates. Okonkwo warned that holding gubernatorial elections in Rivers State before November 29, 2027, would disenfranchise the people.

This accusation raises concerns about the legality and implications of altering elected officials' terms.
