Keyamo Urges Jonathan to Reject PDP's 2027 Nomination

Festus Keyamo, the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, publicly called on former President Goodluck Jonathan to reject a presidential nomination reportedly offered by a faction of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) for the 2027 elections. This faction, led by Tanimu Turaki and supported by Nyesom Wike, announced Jonathan as its candidate last week.

Keyamo described the situation as "bizarre comedy," questioning the legitimacy of the faction, which he noted is not recognized by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). He criticized the group for not being listed among recognized political parties and referred to its leaders as a "proxy bunch of people" who are not even registered on INEC's website.

Keyamo urged Jonathan to distance himself from the nomination to protect his reputation and global image, emphasizing that it would be unfortunate for Nigerians to recall Jonathan's previous tenure as clueless.
