Keyamo Inspects Lagos Airport After Terminal Fire Outbreak

On Monday night, Festus Keyamo, the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, conducted an emergency visit to Lagos State after a fire outbreak occurred at Terminal 1 of Murtala Muhammed International Airport. The incident took place early Tuesday morning, and Keyamo arrived at the airport around midnight, joining the management team of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) to coordinate efforts to contain the situation.

He praised the FAAN personnel for their swift intervention, which helped minimize the fire's impact. Keyamo disclosed that both FAAN's fire department and the Lagos State Fire Service would maintain vigilance at the airport overnight.

He conducted an inspection of the facilities at daybreak to assess the extent of the damage and issued necessary directives. Henri Agbebir, the Director of Public Affairs at FAAN, confirmed that there were no casualties reported and assured the public that the situation was under control, with firefighting teams actively working to extinguish the fire.
