Robin Raikkonen Joins Red Bull Driver Development Programme

Robin Raikkonen, the 11-year-old son of former Formula 1 world champion Kimi Raikkonen, has signed with Red Bull to join their driver development programme starting in 2027. Robin, nicknamed ‘Ace’, has made a mark in karting championships, showcasing his talent.

Kimi Raikkonen, known as the ‘Iceman’ and the last Ferrari driver to win a world championship in 2007, expressed his excitement about Robin's selection, stating that Red Bull offers a comprehensive programme to nurture his son's racing career. Red Bull team principal Laurent Mekies praised Robin's exceptional ability in karting, highlighting his speed, racecraft, and maturity.

Mekies emphasized the team's commitment to developing Robin step by step, ensuring he receives the necessary support and resources to maximize his potential. This signing follows the trend of young drivers from notable racing families, such as Ella Hakkinen, daughter of two-time world champion Mika Hakkinen.
