Zulum Commits to Transform Borno's Educational Institutions

On Wednesday, Borno State Governor, Professor Babagana Umara Zulum, reaffirmed his administration's commitment to investing in educational growth during a meeting with the Forum of Heads of Tertiary Institutions at the Government House in Maiduguri. He emphasized that education is crucial for a better future and for making Borno a hub for intellectuals.

Zulum promised to review salaries at Ramat Polytechnic and the state’s Colleges of Education, secure funding for academic program accreditation, and recruit academic staff based on institutional needs. He also directed the Provost of Abba Ashigar College of Business and Management Studies to reintroduce relevant courses to enhance local government staff capacity.

Additionally, he pledged to rehabilitate staff quarters at Ramat Polytechnic and remodel the College of Nursing's student hostel. Professor Babagana Gutti, Vice Chancellor of Kashim Ibrahim University, commended the Governor's progress in education but requested additional funding and resources for the institutions.
