Kinsmen Urge Oyo APC Candidate to Prioritize Tradition

Kinsmen have urged Sharafadeen Alli, the Oyo APC gubernatorial candidate for the 2027 elections, to prioritize his traditional role as Ekerin Balogun of Ibadanland over his political ambitions. This statement was jointly signed by the Forum, led by President Alimi Alao and Secretary Adebayo Kazeem.

They described Alli's elevation to this traditional title as a significant turning point that transcends partisan politics, emphasizing the importance of cultural heritage and leadership responsibilities. The Forum highlighted that the role of Ekerin Balogun carries enormous cultural significance and should not be overshadowed by political aspirations.

They called for a commitment to preserving Ibadanland's rich heritage and urged Alli to embrace his responsibilities as a custodian of tradition. The statement also expressed condolences to the family of the late Oba Isioy Dada, reinforcing the need for unity and cultural continuity in Ibadanland.
