Oyo APC Leaders Endorse Alli; Adelabu Rejects Move

During a high-level leadership summit held in Samonda, Ibadan, Oyo APC leaders endorsed Sharafadeen Alli as their preferred candidate for the 2027 governorship election. The endorsement was announced by Tade Akinjobi and followed consultations among party leaders, including Ayo Adeseun, who emphasized the need for unity ahead of the elections.

However, Adebayo Adelabu, a former Minister of Power, rejected the endorsement, labeling it unauthorized and capable of undermining party unity. He argued that the endorsement process did not follow the official party structure and warned against actions that could deepen internal divisions.

The summit attracted prominent APC leaders and was seen as an effort to consolidate internal cohesion in the party. Adelabu's camp expressed concerns that the endorsement could misrepresent the party's position and insisted that the final decision on candidacy should adhere to the party's internal democratic processes.
