Kogi APC Suspends Senator Jibrin Isah Over Allegations

Senator Jibrin Isah, popularly known as Echocho, has been suspended by the All Progressives Congress (APC) due to accusations of engaging in anti-party activities and failing to deliver his polling unit during the 2019 and 2023 governorship elections in Kogi State. The suspension, communicated in a letter dated May 26, was addressed to the APC state chairman and was based on claims from the ward executive in Odu Ward 2, Dekina Local Government Area.

The ward executives accused the senator of undermining the party's interests and maintaining close political ties with opposition figures. In response, Mikail Ibrahim, a media aide to Senator Echocho, dismissed the suspension as baseless and politically motivated, asserting that the senator remains loyal to the APC and has significantly contributed to the party's victories in Kogi State.

Ibrahim also highlighted various projects facilitated by the senator across Kogi East, including school renovations and healthcare improvements, and criticized the suspension as poorly conceived.
