Kogi APC Primaries: Senator Echocho Protests Results

Senator Jibrin Isah, popularly known as Echocho, protested the results of the Kogi APC senatorial primaries held in Kogi State. He alleged that the primaries were conducted improperly, citing the absence of electoral materials in several wards, including his own.

Echocho declared that no proper election took place and accused party officials of bias, claiming the results were prepared in favor of the incumbent. He threatened to challenge the outcome, asserting that the results could not even be announced.

Ahmed Ododo, who participated in the primaries, faced accusations of planning to intimidate supporters and disrupt the voting process. Despite these allegations, the turnout for the primaries was described as massive across the state’s three senatorial districts.

Former Governor Yahaya Bello commended the process, stating it reflected the APC's capacity to conduct transparent elections. The situation has heightened tensions within the party as Echocho maintains his stance on the electoral process.
