Man Arrested for Vandalizing Cashew Center in Kogi

On September 4, 2026, a man identified as Joshua was arrested for vandalizing a cashew center in Kogi State. The arrest was made during a joint routine patrol conducted by personnel from the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Isanlu Division and local vigilantes.

SC Aliyu Abdullahi, the Command’s Public Relations Officer, reported that Joshua was caught damaging critical equipment at the center. Following his arrest, Joshua made a confessional statement and is cooperating with officers to assist in ongoing investigations prior to prosecution.

Items recovered from him included peeled electrical cables and an electrical control board. The Kogi State Commandant, Aletan Olumide Ebenezer, praised the joint patrol team for their swift action and effective inter-agency coordination.

He urged residents, especially youths, to provide security agencies with timely and credible intelligence regarding suspicious activities, emphasizing the importance of channeling energy into productive ventures rather than vandalism.
