Student Shot Dead in Campus Cult Clash at Kogi University

A final year student named Solomon was shot and killed on the campus of Prince Abubakar Audu University in Anyigba, Kogi State, during a celebration on Thursday night. The trouble began when a student believed to be a member of a cult group reportedly intimidated others with uncomplimentary remarks.

This led to an altercation between rival cult members, resulting in an exchange of gunfire. Solomon was killed, and another individual, known as Dior, was stabbed during the incident.

Initially thought to have survived, Dior later fell into a coma and died. Following the violence, the university administration issued a statement banning all forms of celebrations on campus until further notice, citing serious security concerns.

The Vice Chancellor emphasized the need to maintain peace and order within the university environment. The Kogi State Police Command's spokesperson, ASP Saliu Oyiza, did not respond to inquiries at the time of the report.
