Kogi Governor Ododo Vows to Combat Banditry and Kidnapping

Kogi State Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo declared his administration's commitment to combating banditry and kidnapping in the state during a political rally in Kabba on a date not specified. Represented by his Security Adviser, Commander Jerry Omodare, Ododo stated that the government is employing both military and law-enforcement operations alongside non-kinetic measures to tackle insecurity.

He noted that some criminal groups have shown interest in surrendering, contingent upon the release of hostages. Ododo asserted, “Our kinetic and non-kinetic approach is working.

We are decimating the criminal elements in our land.” He urged residents of Kabba-Bunu/Ijumu Federal Constituency to support government initiatives aimed at enhancing security and infrastructure. Additionally, he called for support for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and other APC candidates in the upcoming 2027 elections.

The rally was convened by former Speaker of the Kogi State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon Prince Matthew Kolawole, who discussed various federal initiatives in education, infrastructure, and security.
