Kwankwasiyya Movement Critiques INEC's ADC Delisting Decision

The Kwankwasiyya Movement has raised alarms regarding the Independent National Electoral Commission's (INEC) recent decision to suspend recognition of the David Mark-led National Working Committee of the African Democratic Congress (ADC). In a statement issued by spokesperson Habibu Moham, the movement emphasized that this action poses a significant threat to Nigeria's democracy, revealing the increasing inconsistencies within the judiciary and the conduct of the electoral commission.

The statement pointed out that the leadership crisis within the ADC is symptomatic of broader issues affecting other political parties, such as the People's Democratic Party, Labour Party, and New Nigeria People's Party. The movement criticized the judiciary's contradictory interventions, which have led to prolonged leadership disputes and uncertainty within political institutions.

It warned that such actions undermine the credibility of the judiciary and create an environment susceptible to manipulation, ultimately distorting political competition in Nigeria. The Kwankwasiyya Movement stressed that democracy cannot thrive if political parties are incapacitated and urged for a commitment to democratic values.
